We love spending time outdoors in Australia, and who can blame us. By the end of winter we’re all itching to get back outside and start up the barbeque, ready for entertaining guests or simply relaxing. With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get your outdoor spaces ready.
Spring cleaning
A lot of the time we don’t use our outdoor spaces in winter, unless you’ve got a closed in area, or a perfectly heated space. Come spring, outdoor furniture is starting to look a little dusty and unused, so start by freshening it up a little. You can also pressure clean your patio or deck, getting rid of any leaves and dirt.
Trim trees and shrubs
Ensure the trees and shrubs in your garden are trimmed back, not only for aesthetic purposes, but cutting back large trees is essential in keeping you and your house safe in the storm season.

Clean gutters
With hot weather comes the risk of storms and fires. Ensuring your gutters and down pipes are clean and free of debris will help to avoid over spill from water and fire hazards.
De-bug patios and pergolas
With spring and summer comes pesky insects. Get your outdoor space prepared with citronella candles, pest deterrent flowers, and bug-repelling tech.
Feed your plants
If you want your flowers, fruit trees or veggie patch looking gorgeous and fresh, you should feed them some fertiliser at the start of spring to encourage and support all of the new leaf growth and to create beautiful spring flowers.
Check your shading
With a hot summer soon to follow spring, you want to ensure your shading options are up to standard. If you already have a shade cover, check that it’s still in good condition.
